My first gig in Harrogate as a wedding photographer was a little different to usual, in that, well, I volunteered my services for it!
I’d seen Kirsty & Craig on the news after the unfortunate collapse of Thomas Cook left them out of pocket for the wedding they’d spent two years planning and saving for.
A local hotelier, Simon Cotton of the HRH Group had stepped up to offer Kirsty & Craig the Yorkshire Hotel and the White Hart Hotel here in Harrogate as a venue at no charge for the couple and their 20 guests.
Hearing about their plight, and having just weeks before seen the outpouring of support back in The Bahamas for the victims of Hurricane Dorian, I felt it was the least I could do to step up and offer my services to the couple as well.
The day was wonderful. In front of family and friends, Kirsty and Craig laughed and smiled from start to finish. With a classic car, a beautiful venue, and no end of support from local businesses including BeBaBo for Kirsty’s hair, Charlotte Wilson handling makeup and Mama Doreens providing the cake, the whole event was one to remember!
