Kamalame Cay is a truly magical island just off the mainland of Andros, and I was excited to receive an email from Kelli asking if I would be her wedding photographer for her day on the island.
The Day Started perfectly, with Kelli and her girls enjoying the breeze off the crystal oceans as they were pampered and styled by the amazing girls of Studio Vivo. Robert and the boys were taking it just as easy, enjoying an ice cold Kalik (or two!) from their balcony overlooking the miles of stunning beach that Kamalame Cay offers.
As the ceremony time drew closer, Kelli was nervously watching an ominous looking raincloud rolling in off the ocean. Minutes before ceremony time, the cloud broke and the rain came down. Hard!
Luckily for all, within 20 minutes, the clouds had passed, taking the most of the rain with it, and the ceremony proceeded with Kelli and Robert said their vows (with a little bit of help from their ‘umbrella holders’!) and sealed the deal in front of family and friends.
While the rest of the night went off without a hitch, due to the event team leaping into action at the first sign of rain to rebuild the reception area under shelter. the result was an idyllic celebration of the couple with music, dancing and amazing food under the stars, we still had a problem…. the delay had left no time for portraits of our bride and groom!
In a place as stunning as Kamalame, I couldn’t leave the couple high and dry, so asked (begged?) them if they would be willing to get dressed up again early in the morning, and let me take them out around the island to make some magic….
Which is exactly what we did!
